Was eigentlich schon alle wussten, ist nun offiziell- der US-amerikanische Video on Demand- Dienst Netflix expandiert weiter innerhalb Europas. Via Twitter gab Netflix dies nun bekannt:

Nach den Niederlanden folgt also nicht nur Deutschland, sondern gleich die Ausweitung auf Benelux plus Frankreich und den deutschsprachigen Markt inklusive Österreich und der Schweiz. Den Zeitpunkt des Marktstarts bleibt Netflix noch schuldig, auch die Plapperpresse hat ihn im vermeintlichen Scoop im April nicht benannt. Dann mache ich mal konkrete Vorschläge zu den wichtigsten drei Punkten:
1. Nach meinem Gefühl startet Netflix in Deutschland im September 2014.
2. Der monatliche Abopreis wird auf der Höhe des US-Abos liegen. Ich rechne mit 7,99 Euro. Wobei der rote VoD-Riese in den USA den Abopreis für Neukunden gerade auf 8,99 USD angehoben hat. Offizielle Begründung „In order to continue adding more movies and TV shows“.
3. More Movies and TV Shows. Und genau das wird der Knackepunkt- wie attraktiv ist das Angebot von Netflix, welche Lizenzen konnte man für den heimischen Markt erwerben? Wir alle hoffen auf ein breites Spektrum aus Klassikern, Bestandskatalog und Neuestem, den besten Serien, mehr knackigen Eigenproduktionen wie „House of Cards“ und natürlich OV-Versionen.
